Gates of Immortality: A Mocktail for the Rebel Who Refuses to Burn Out

Making a nourishing mocktail is my favorite ritual, not because it's complicated or impressive, but because it works. I enjoy the complexity of a delicious beverage and I love it even more when it makes me feel good. There's something so fun about having a guest over and whipping up a healthy drank.

Anyways, this is the bevi I lean on when I'm feeling the edges of burnout creeping back, when my capacity score is hovering around 12-14 (iykyk), I make this.

Gates of Immortality isn't just a drink. It's a devotional act. A way of telling my body: "I see you. I'm here. Let me nourish you."

This mocktail meets me exactly where I am - depleted, fighting, still here - and reminds me that sustainable rebellion isn't about pushing harder. It's about fortifying from within.

Why This Mocktail Exists

You likely didn't get burntout doing something you don't care about. You're a person with a purpose, passion, and the drive to make it happy. You are dedicated to the cause becuase you give a damn, because you see what needs to change, becuase your rage is holy and your hope is stubborn.

But if you've been pushing too hard? Well, your martyrdom is showing.

And, my dear, that isn't a great strategy for rebellion. Remember - exhaustion isn't a badge of honor.

This mocktail is packed with antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and vitality. The berries support cellular repair. The hawthorn strengthens your heart—both physically and energetically. The elderflower clears stagnation. The peppermint brings you back into your body.

But the real magic? Trinity.

Trinity is a synergistic blend of Turkey Tail, Lion's Mane, and Reishi mushrooms formulated to build upon the foundations of your health - aka my holy tirnity.

I formulated this for anyone looking to support overall health, but it especially helps the rebellious souls who refuse to burn out for the cuase. This formula:

  • Restores energy that martyrdom has stolen (without the caffeine crash)
  • Rebuilds stamina from the inside out (not forcing what isn't there)
  • Supports your nervous system so rest actually feels safe
  • Fortifies your foundation for the long fight

I take Trinity daily. Not to work harder, but to rest deeper. Because here's what I've learned: sustainable rebellion requires fortification, not just willpower. And without further adue, the Gates of Immortallity.

Gates of Immortality Recipe

Original recipe by Cassandra Elizabeth Sears.

Ingredients:

Handful of mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, sweet cherries), 1½ oz bourbon (optional—skip for mocktail version), 1 oz fresh lemon juice, ½ oz honey syrup, ¼ oz elderflower liqueur (or substitute strong elderflower tea), 2 dropperfuls Trinity tincture, Several drops hawthorn flower essence (or hawthorn tincture/tea), Club soda, Fresh peppermint sprig

Instructions:

Add your berries to a cocktail shaker and muddle them thoroughly—let this be an active release. Add the bourbon (if using), lemon juice, honey syrup, elderflower, Trinity tincture, and hawthorn. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Double-strain over fresh ice in your glass (this removes the berry pulp for a smoother drink). Top with club soda. Take your peppermint sprig and clap it between your palms—the scent is instant grounding. Garnish and sip slowly.

The Practice

Make this when your capacity score tells you that you're running on fumes. Make it when you've said yes to one too many meetings, signed one too many petitions, carried one too many people's pain as if it were yours to fix.

Make it as an act of defiance against the belief that your worth is measured by your output.

As you muddle the berries, release what you've been holding. As you shake, let the motion be cathartic. As you sip, feel the rebuild beginning—cellular, energetic, real.

This is how your rebellion becomes sustainable. Not by doing more. But by fortifying what you already are.

This mocktail pairs perfectly with capacity calculator inside the Rest as Rebellion guide, boundary scripts, and the revolutionary act of choosing rest.

Sip slowly, darling, you're changing empires.
